Jessa and I got up 6.30 am. They felt fresh after sleeping 6 hours in regular bed. The bed, however was very hard. We went to eat breakfast, it was tasty, mixture of Vietnamese and Western cuisine.

After we went to find ATM. Saigon looked better at the day light. We arrived to the point where we stopped last night, to the place where you need have to cross the street to arrive to the Vietcombank tower.

It seemed impossible, but after observing two schoolgirls crossing the street without any fear, we decided to do it. The solution is: you need to cross the street and they will simply bypass you. We did in this way and everything went smoothly.
Going back home we crossed the market, where you can find many agriculture products and sometimes it smelled fresh meat and fish (in the humid climate and the temperature outside of 28C, it is not the most pleasant smell you would feel.

We arrived at hotel and met with the other two. The Team Vietnam was ready to go to the airport and fly to Phu Quoc Island. We paid 200,000 VND at the hotel for the taxi, instead of 800,000 VND.

At the airport, domestic airport, you can buy many local things, especially shoes, belts, iPad covers from the crocodile skin, Vietnamese lacquer and plenty of special food: lotus seed and candies with coco milk and durian.

The flight took 1 hour. We arrived at the new airport of Phu Quoc – Phu Quoc International Airport. From there we took taxi to our hotel – Mai House. We arrived at the Mai House and then we realized that our hotel name was Mai Spa. The taxi driver took us to Mai Spa, which was cheaper than Mai House. We paid 200,000 VND (which is about 10 USD), it would be cheaper but I told wrong name of the hotel to the taxi driver.

The bungalow in Mai Spa was big, around 34 m2, with air-conditioning and we paid 850,000 VND (41.5 USD per night, per 2 persons). The bungalow was with the garden view, which was cheaper than the bungalow with sea view. There is no need for the bungalow with sea view. At the end you don’t sleep with window open, because of the mosquitos in the night. It is not Greece or Croatia that you can leave the window during the night.

We swam in the sea, the temperature was 25C of the water, however there was plenty of rubbish in the sea, there western wind blowing from the Gulf of Thailand and brought the rubbish.

The sand was ofcolor of gold at the “Long Beach” with coco palms.
